Job summary

Eastern Nephrology Associates (ENA) seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for on-site, patient-facing care in Morehead City, NC. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and assist physicians and the clinical team.

The role requires an active LPN license in NC/SC, at least 2 years of clinical experience (nephrology preferred), and current BLS or ACLS. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are also required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for clinical evaluation, including chart review and initial assessment.
• Obtain and document vital signs, weight, allergies, and current medications in the EMR.
• Perform lab procedures within scope, including fingerstick HGB and stool card interpretation after certification.
• Educate patients and complete referrals as directed by the provider.
• Maintain accurate documentation of communication, interventions, and follow-up care in the EMR.

Summary

Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and clinical team members in delivering safe, timely, and patient-centered nephrology care.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to participate in the assessment of patients; use critical thinking skills in response to events, observations, experiences, verbal and written communication, problem solving and decision making.

This position is designated as an on-site, patient-facing role. In-office presence is an essential function due to the need for real-time collaboration with providers, direct interaction with patients and caregivers, and secure handling of health data in compliance with HIPAA.

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree or Certification for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and 2 years clinical experience, or a combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment. The noise level is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, or hear.

Work Schedule is Monday- Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with a one-hour lunch. Slight modifications may be made to this schedule with approval from manager.
