Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management seeks a Charge Nurse (RN or LVN) to oversee resident care and supervise nursing staff at Los Alamos facility. Develop care plans, collaborate with physicians and therapists, and ensure safety regulations.

Requires current RN/LVN license in practicing state and BLS/CPR; nursing management experience preferred. The role involves charting, medication handling, and rounds with physicians to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Experience in nursing management is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follows established procedure for charting and incident reporting.
• Follows company procedures for narcotic counting, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction.
• Documents any change in patient\'s conditions including nutritional problems, infections, skin conditions, weight loss or any other noticeable changes.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Document and notify applicable departments of any patient\'s room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

The Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse will be responsible for resident care and directing nursing staff. The RN is expected to develop the plan of care and collaborate with physicians, therapists and nursing assistants. The RN will also monitor assigned staff to ensure that all safety regulations are upheld.
