Job summary

PrimeCare seeks Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for part-time day or evening shifts at the Onondaga County Correctional Facility in Jamesville, NY. You will provide nursing care under RN supervision and support inmate/patient health needs in a secure environment.

Responsibilities include documenting in EMR, maintaining medication and supply records, and assisting in care planning according to protocols. On-the-job training and orientation are provided.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Practical Nurse in New York state.
• Experience in correctional health care delivery is a plus.
• Excellent communication and clinical skills.
• Ability to follow supervision and document accurately.

Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work part-time on the day shift or part-time on the evening shift in the medical department at the Onondaga County Correctional Facility in Jamesville, NY. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care and perform duties under supervision of an RN.

Available Shifts:

PT Day (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM), PT Evening (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)

Job Responsibilities:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is communicated to appropriate personnel. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse will also maintain, update and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure. Other responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws
• Conducting sick call for inmate/patients and provide treatment illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by PCM Medical Director
• Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of inmates/patients and participate in the formulation of the plan of care
• Record, retrieve and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record

This position provides a 2-week orientation period where you will be training on-the-job and shadowing with the nursing staff.

Salary Description:

$42.00 / Hour base rate plus shift differentials up to $5.00 / Hour
