Job summary

AllerVie Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our specialty allergy and immunology clinic in Glastonbury, CT. The role involves administering injections, supporting testing and immunotherapy, and meticulous EMR documentation.

The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, patient‑focused, and experienced in clinical workflows within a fast-paced team. The LPN will work Tue, Wed & Thursday, 7:30am–6:00pm, contributing to safe, efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in the state of practice (CT).
• Current BLS certification required.
• 1–2 years of outpatient, specialty, or primary care experience preferred.
• Experience administering injections, immunotherapy, or biologic medications strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with allergy/immunology protocols, spirometry, and patient intake processes is a plus.
• Proficient in documenting in EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer allergy injections, immunotherapy, and biologic medications under provider supervision.
• Perform patient intake, collect vital signs, and assist with allergy testing and assessments.
• Accurately document all clinical activities and patient encounters in the EMR.
• Monitor patients post-injection for reactions and provide follow-up care as needed.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and safety practices.
• Maintain a clean, compliant clinical environment and assist with inventory.

Job Summary

This role involves administering injections, supporting allergy testing and immunotherapy, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and experienced in clinical workflows. Starting pay is $29, depending on experience.

Schedule

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 7:30am to 6:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Administer allergy injections, immunotherapy, and biologic medications under provider supervision
• Perform patient intake, collect vital signs, and assist with clinical assessments and allergy testing (e.g., skin testing, spirometry, Niox)
• Accurately document all clinical activities and patient encounters in the EMR system
• Monitor patients post-injection for reactions and provide follow-up care as needed
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication protocols, and safety practices
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and compliant clinical environment
• Support inventory tracking, medication prep, and cold chain management
• Collaborate with providers, clinical coordinators, and the biologics team to ensure smooth, patient-centered care

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice
• Current BLS certification required
• 1–2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient, specialty, or primary care setting preferred
• Experience administering injections, immunotherapy, or biologic medications strongly preferred
• Familiarity with allergy/immunology protocols, spirometry, and patient intake processes a plus
• Proficient in documenting in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Strong communication, multitasking, and patient education skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods and communicate effectively, including speaking and hearing
• Regular use of hands and arms to write, type, and operate office equipment
• Occasional physical movement, including reaching, bending, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and sensing odors
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and occasional overhead reaching
• Ability to lift and carry moderate weights (up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly) while maintaining visual focus and awareness
