Job summary

Journey in Frederick, MD is seeking a dedicated nurse leader to direct the daily operations of licensed practical/vocational nurses and CNAs, ensuring care that meets federal, state, and local regulations. You will collaborate with the home office and local leaders to promote holistic care, oversee admissions, discharges, transfers, and documentation, and support residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurses and CNAs in accordance with current regulations and facility policies.
• Promote holistic care for residents using the nursing model.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed by nursing staff.
• Participate in admissions, discharges and transfers of residents.
• Assess changes in residents’ status and notify physician and family, documenting accordingly.
• Transcribe physician orders to medical records and carry out orders as written.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses for changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
