Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a licensed Plumber to join the Facilities team in Miami, FL. This full-time position inspects, repairs, maintains plumbing fixtures in heating, water, and drainage systems across campus facilities.

You will read blueprints, perform preventive maintenance, mentor junior plumbers, and ensure safe, compliant operations. A high school diploma, a valid Florida plumber license, and at least 3 years of experience are required; a valid driver’s license is also needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications: Valid Miami-Dade County Plumber License required; Florida Driver's License required; Medical Gas Certification (ASSE 6010 or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant plumbing experience.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: learning agility, teamwork, technical proficiency, and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, modifies, and maintains plumbing fixtures in heating, water, and drainage systems across facilities.
• Reads and interprets blueprints to repair plumbing systems.
• Keeps daily logs on major components and maintains records of preventive maintenance.
• Performs preventive maintenance, tests, and evaluates equipment performance; reports anomalies to staff.
• Provides mentorship and supervision to junior plumbers and handles more complex repairs.
