Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a General Service Technician - Licensed Plumber for its Plant Operations team in Boston. Under general supervision, you will paint and maintain interior and exterior surfaces and perform plumbing system repairs and maintenance.

The role requires a Massachusetts Plumbing License, 3–5 years of specialty experience, and a 6:30AM–3:00PM, Monday–Friday schedule. You will document work in CMMS and follow safety procedures to support hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Plumbing License required with 3–5 years of specialty experience.
• High school diploma or GED plus related apprenticeship program.
• Experience in painting within residential, commercial, or hospital settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain hospital plumbing systems including medical gas, sewage, water, heating, steam, and distribution systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections; enter data in CMMS and keep records.
• Install, maintain and repair Oxygen, Vacuum, and compressed air piping and associated equipment.
• Respond to routine and emergency repair calls; train junior staff when needed.
• Ensure work zones are safe and compliant with hospital guidelines.
