PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures districtwide. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems in district facilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
EQUIPMENT USED: Hand and power tools, pipe bender, propane torch, welding equipment, sewer rooter, heavy equipment, including forklift, trencher, backhoe, personnel lift, ditch witch, pipe threading equipment, and sewer machine. Light truck or van.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and working in confined spaces. Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of tools, equipment, and materials up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance. Frequent use of hand and power tools requiring repetitive hand motions and overhead work. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures and around dust, fumes, chemicals, gas lines, sewage, noise, and moving mechanical equipment. Maintain concentration while diagnosing and repairing plumbing systems, reading blueprints, and responding to emergency situations. Frequent districtwide travel and occasional after-hours or emergency call‑out work required.
Position Type: Full-Time is 30 or more hrs per week
Salary: $22.73 to $32.70 Per Hour
