CHRISTUS Health is seeking a competent Physical Therapy Assistant to implement treatment programs under the guidance of a Physical Therapist in a hospital setting. You will participate in department activities, supervise PT/ PTA students, Rehab Technicians, and Volunteers, and help ensure quality care for diverse patient populations.

The role requires an Associate degree or PTA certificate and Texas licensure with BLS certification.

• Pre-employment health screening and annual screening required.

Responsabilidades

• Implements individualized treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Assists in supervising PTA students, Rehab Technicians, and Volunteers.
• Documents daily and weekly progress notes per department procedures.
• Assists with discharge planning and home programs for patients and families.
• Supports orientation of new Associates and scheduling to ensure coverage.

Responsibilities

• Implements individualized treatment plans, as indicated, considering diagnosis and age specific needs, as established by the Physical Therapist in conjunction with the patient/family. (E)
• Adheres consistently to the P&Ps relating to documentation, to include: Daily and Weekly Progress Notes as required, and other notations, as appropriate.
• Reports observations and the response of the patients to the Physical Therapist, other team members, patient/family, and the physician. (E)
• Assists the Physical Therapist with discharge planning, including home programs, patient and family education/training, and identification of equipment needs. (E)
• Assists in the supervision of Rehab Technicians, Physical Therapy Assistant students, and Volunteers. (M)
• Participates in the orientation of new Associates and scheduling of patients to assure quality patient coverage. (E)
• Demonstrates adherence to the CORE values of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa. (E)
• Understands and supports Performance Improvement activities. (M)
• Complies with departmental productivity standards. (E)
• Maintains an awareness of other agencies within the community in order to make appropriate referrals, when indicated, to network and to increase knowledge of community resources. (E)

• Appropriately adapts assigned patient assessment, treatment and/or service methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychological, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each patient served. (E)
• Fosters and promotes positive and professional relationships with members of the medical staff, physicians, and referral sources.

Requirements

Education/Skills

• Associates degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program or certificate from an accredited school is required.
• All modalities/equipment used by a Physical Therapy Assistant as outlined by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the State Board of Executive Council of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners of Texas.BLS certification is required. Must also successfully complete the pre-employment/post job offer health screening examination and the annual screening, each year thereafter as an employee.
