CHRISTUS Health in the United States is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) to assist the Physical Therapist, deliver treatment plans, and guide patients through corrective exercise programs. You will participate in tests, evaluations, and complex procedures under supervision, ensuring safe and effective care.

The role requires an Associate Degree, LPTA license or compact eligibility, and BLS certification.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver a treatment plan independently addressing identified problems, deficits and discharge needs.
• Monitor patients during treatment and report findings to supervising PT.
• Apply modalities and monitor their contraindications with skilled judgment.
• Seek evidence-based treatments and current wound care protocols as part of daily care.

Summary:

Performs treatments and provides exercise instruction and demonstration for patients. Assists the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations and complex procedures. Carries out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients, as determined by evaluation by a Physical Therapist. Instructs patients on segments of the program.

Responsibilities:

• Able to independently deliver a treatment plan that addresses identified problem(s), deficits and discharge needs and assists with decreasing LOS
• Actively seeks out a diagnosis mix to facilitate ability to independently treat throughout the facility
• Demonstrates skilled expertise when monitoring patients during treatment
• Able to apply reasoning and judgment to skilled observations and reports adverse reactions to physician, supervising PT and/or nursing
• Reports findings to supervising PT and solicits their involvement when needed
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of the use of modalities and their contraindications
• Actively seeks research based treatments and applies to daily treatment
• Knowledgeable of available wound care supplies, current protocols

• LPTA License in the state of employment or Compact required
