Job summary

Methodist-Retirement-Communities seeks a caring Physical Therapy Assistant to support rehabilitation for older adults in League City, TX. You will work under a licensed PT to implement plans, guide exercises, and assist with mobility and daily living tasks.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited PTA credential, Texas licensure, and 2–3 years in skilled nursing or senior living, with a willingness to grow in specialized therapies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current, unrestricted PT A license in Texas.
• 2–3 years of experience in skilled nursing or senior living preferred.
• Experience with specialized therapy programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Instruct, motivate, and assist residents with therapeutic exercise, functional mobility, ambulation, and ADLs.
• Help residents safely use walkers, canes, crutches, prostheses, and other adaptive equipment.
• Measure and record ROM, vital signs, and other progress indicators.
• Observe progress and report changes to the supervising therapist promptly.
• Collaborate with rehab, nursing, and care team for resident-centered care.
• Educate residents and caregivers about routines, wellness, and progress.
• Complete treatment and progress documentation accurately and on time.
