Job summary

Apple Rehab Clipper is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide high-quality resident care under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Director and Physical Therapist. You will assist the PT with therapy plans and ensure documentation aligns with policy while supporting a safe, collaborative care environment.

Qualifications include graduation from an APTA-accredited PTA program and licensure eligibility in the practicing state.

• Provides oversight and direction of techs and assists in the supervision and education of affiliating students.
• Ensures the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and free from safety hazards.

General Purpose

Provides quality resident care to enable the resident to achieve and maintain the maximum level of functional ability while maintaining positive level of interaction with facility and resident.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by state of licensure.
• Assists the PT in providing physical therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care.

• Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in PT to be continued upon discharge.

• Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy. Fosters feelings of self worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding.
• Knows and complies with Residents’ Bill of Rights. Reports all grievances and resident complaints to administrator and/or Director of Nursing immediately.
• Reports any incident involving rehab staff to RVP immediately.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds.
