Texas Health Ft. Worth is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) for an inpatient Weekend Plan.

This full-time role offers 40 hours per week with Saturday/Sunday coverage and a rotating 8-hour day schedule at 7:00AM-3:30PM and 7:30AM-4:00PM. You will follow care plans, perform treatments within license scope, document in the chart, educate patients and families, participate in discharge planning, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant credential required.

Responsibilities

• Follow plan for care, or appropriate therapeutic intervention to achieve stated goals.
• Performs treatment procedures/techniques within the scope of the professional license.
• Documents all aspects of assessment and plan of care per regulatory guidelines.
• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and needs.
• Educates patient and family on treatment plan, safety, home programs, and equipment.
• Demonstrates competence in age-appropriate patient care and age-specific adjustments.
• Participates in discharge planning.
• Attends hospital, department, and community meetings/in-services.
• Collaborates across disciplines.

Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104

Physical Therapy department - Work hours: Weekend Plan: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Every Saturday and Sunday (1 weekend off every 13-weeks) 7:00AM-3:30PM, as well as 3 days per week, 7:30AM to 4:00PM, 8-hour shifts, with occasional holiday coverage.

What You Will Do

• Follow plan for care, or appropriate therapeutic intervention to achieve stated goals.

• Documents all aspects of assessment and plan of care in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines
• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment
• Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
• Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
• Participate in discharge planning for patient.
• Attends hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.
• Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration
