Job summary

Munson Healthcare’s Pharmacy Technician Trainee Program offers on-the-job training to become a licensed pharmacy technician. The role supports pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, and assisting with clinical documentation related to medication therapies.

Licensed pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in performing patient care activities including preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the medication inventory, and supporting clinical documentation related to medication therapies. Licensed pharmacy technicians are part of the first line to providing safe high-quality pharmaceutical care to our patients.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., preparing IV admixtures, use of a computer keyboard)
• may require lifting and carrying of light loads (up to 40lbs), including boxes, equipment, unit-dose cassettes, and IV solutions
• and stooping or kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers)
• walking or standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours) is often necessary
• must be able to physically operate the equipment used for the job!

What's Required

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current pharmacy technician license in the state of Michigan or eligible for licensure
