Job summary

Aptive Pest Control is seeking a Pest Control Technician to join our Des Moines area team on the road, reporting to our Ankeny, IA office once per week. This full-time role offers an hourly pay of $19.00–$21.00, uncapped bonuses, a company vehicle, benefits, training, and opportunities for advancement in a fast-paced, safety-focused culture.

You will service local routes, maintain equipment, and provide effective pest solutions while following all state and federal laws.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current commercial pesticide applicator license in the state of work.
• A US driver’s license valid for at least 3 years.
• Clean driving record; no more than one moving violation in the past year and two in the past 4 years.
• Drug test and background check will be performed on all new hires.

Responsibilities

• Run a daily route resolving customer pest concerns and issues.
• Maintain truck and equipment in proper working order.
• Keep accurate records of treatments provided.
• Mix, apply pesticides following state and federal laws.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for customers by delivering effective pest solutions.
• Maintain and service all route customers according to standards.
• Advise customers of potential problems and keep management informed of route issues.
• Maintain proper inventory of pesticides in use and carry a ~50 lb backpack.
• Route assignment is local; schedule includes every other Saturday.

This is a full-time Pest Control Technician position located on the road in the area around Des Moines, IA. This position will report to our office in Ankeny, IA once per week. The individual we are looking for is also someone that enjoys working in a team environment and excels working at an individual level.

Responsibilities include:

• Running a daily route where you will be resolving customer pest concerns and issues
• Maintaining truck and equipment in proper working order
• Keeping accurate records of treatments provided
• Mixing, applying, and working with pesticides following state and federal laws
• Serve as the subject matter expert for your customers by implementing the most efficient and overall best pest solution for each customer's individual needs
• Maintain and service all route customers according to company standards and procedures
• Advise customers of potential problems
• Keep management informed of any problems encountered on service routes
• Maintain proper inventory of pesticides in usage
• Please note that you will be assigned a route in your local area
• Carry a product backpack that weighs approximately 50 lbs
• Work schedule includes every other Saturday

Qualifications:

• Must hold a current commercial pesticide applicator license or certification for general pest control in the state where the work will be performed.
• A US driver’s license that has been valid for a minimum of 3 years is required
• A clean driving record is required (no more than one moving violation in the past year and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 4 years)
• A drug test and background check will be performed on all new hires
