Job summary

National Vision, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Eyeglass Manager to lead the eyeglass department and drive excellent customer service in a high-volume store in Florida. You will supervise Opticians and sales staff, manage staffing and operational tasks, and mentor junior teammates to achieve sales and customer satisfaction goals.

The role emphasizes compliance, merchandising, and effective team leadership with opportunities for growth within a nationally recognized optical retailer.

Qualifications

• Optical license required by state where employed.
• Experience in optical sales and supervising teams.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop staff relationships.
• Strong knowledge of store operations and success metrics.
• Excellent oral and written communication for team management.
• Ability to analyze financial reports and forecast performance.

Responsibilities

• Drives, monitors, and achieves profit, sales, and performance goals per National Vision standards.
• Monitors costs, budgets, and resources for the eyewear department.
• Oversees eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance; identifies opportunities and acts.
• Delivers outstanding customer service and ensures teams do the same.
• Ensures quality standards are met across store operations.
• Manages merchandising, pricing promotions, and initiatives per Brand and Company standards.
• Supervises Opticians and CL Sales associates; assists General Manager with staffing needs.
• Leads and coaches toward sales and customer service goals.
• Mentors Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.

Job Responsibilities

What would you do? – The Specifics

• Drives, monitors, and achieves profit, sales and performance goals according to National Visionstandards. Monitors retail operating costs, budgets, and resources.


• Optimizes and oversees the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company’s policies and operational guidelines. Identifies areas of opportunity and creates an action plan for improvement.


• Conveys a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensures all associates do the same.


• Ensures quality standards are met.


• Ensures effective merchandising and execution of marketing, pricing promotions, and initiatives according to Brand and Company standards.


• Supervises and motivates Opticians and CL Sales associates (in some stores the Receptionist) and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.


• Assists the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.


• Leads and coaches associates towards the attainment of sales and customer service goals.


• Mentor potential Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.

• Optical sales experience. Supervising experience is preferred.
