Apple Rehab West Haven is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in West Haven, CT. This on-site role collaborates with the Rehabilitation Director and Occupational Therapist to deliver quality resident care and maximize functional ability.

Responsibilities

• Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by state of licensure.
• Assists the OT in providing occupational therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care as directed by the OT.
• Manages caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
• Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in OT procedures to be continued upon discharge.
• Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensures all OT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
• Working with OT, provides oversight and direction to techs and assists in the supervision and education of affiliating students.
• Assists in the assurance that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and free from conditions that may cause safety hazards.

Other Job Functions

• Maintains own professional competence as well as learning new creative trends in OT treatment through participation in continuing education, seminars and training programs.
