Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a caring and dynamic Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our in-house rehabilitation team in a skilled nursing setting. You will work with a dedicated team to help seniors regain quality of life, following an established treatment plan and under the supervision of a licensed OT.

Responsibilities include administering therapy per plan of care, documenting progress, and participating in care plan meetings.

Qualifications

  • Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Experience in skilled nursing settings is preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Treat patients according to the plan of care under supervision of the Licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Communicate patient progress, concerns, and plans to the OT.
  • Provide therapy as directed by the OT based on patient presentation and instructions.
  • Participate in patient care meetings when requested by Rehab Director.
  • Document treatment and progress notes; assist with discharge summaries and billing per policy.
  • Follow state practice acts and code of conduct relevant to OTAs.
  • Adhere to facility policies and code of conduct.

The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, and assist in facilitating our Occupational Therapy Services in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be always maintained.

Pay Based on experience.

PTA- Jobs and Responsibilities:
  • Treat patients according to the treatment plan of care developed by and under the supervision of the Licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Communicate with the Occupational Therapist any pertinent information concerning patient progress, concerns, and plans.
  • Be proficient in therapeutic needs to treat patients based on their presentation and instructions given by the Occupational Therapist
  • Participate in patient Plan of care meetings if asked by the Director of Rehab.
  • Record treatment notes, progress notes, provide objective input for discharge summaries and complete daily billing of services per policy and procedure
  • Adherence to State Required practice acts, code of conduct, ethics during professional practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Adherence to Company requires policy, procedures and code of conduct
  • Active State Licensure or certificationneeded
