Job summary

Elliot Health System in Manchester, NH, is seeking a Licensed Nursing Assistant II to support providers with patient care, examinations, procedures, vital signs, and dressing changes in assigned clinical areas. You will assist with rooming, documentation, and general admin duties in line with standards and policies.

The ideal candidate will hold a current NH Nursing Assistant license, have a High School diploma (or equivalent), and obtain or already have BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current Nursing Assistant License in NH required.
• BLS authorization preferred or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare visit charts based on daily schedule and ensure records are accessible to the provider.
• Room patients for visits according to criteria and document vitals and history.
• Accurately obtain and record age/condition-specific measurements (vital signs, height, weight, bladder scan, pulse ox).
• Document clearly and concisely in medical records.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Manage clinical supplies and medication samples; maintain stock and labeling.
• Serve as a preceptor in orientation of new staff.
• Identify emergent situations and communicate for timely interventions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary: M - F 8 am - 5 pm

The Licensed Nursing Assistant II will assist providers in the administration of patient care in assigned clinical areas. The incumbent will assist with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatment, dressing changes, vital signs, bladder scans and will perform general administrative duties in accordance with accrediting bodies, regulatory and government standards, as well as company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visit chart preparation activities based on the daily scheduled appointments including diagnostic test results, emergency/urgent care reports, discharge summaries and consult/PCP reports are in the medical record and accessible to the provider. Anticipate care information to support provider visit.
• Perform rooming activities for provider visits according to the documented rooming criteria including chief complaint, allergies, vital signs, medication list review, tobacco history, LMP, incontinence screening, health maintenance overrides and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Obtain and document age and/or condition-specific measurements accurately including vital signs, height, weight, bladder scan and pulse oximetry based on visit purpose and clinical condition.
• Document using clear, concise, and professional written skills.
• Assist providers with patient examination and procedures.
• Manage clinical supplies and medication sample areas to ensure that stock is current, stored appropriately, labeled and par levels maintained.
• Act as a principal preceptor in the clinical orientation of new staff.
• Identify emergent situations and communicate to appropriate personnel for interventions. Function in emergent situations pertinent to the role.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Licensure

• Education:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certification/Licensure: Current Nursing Assistant License in the State of New Hampshire required.
• BLS authorization preferred or obtained within 90 days of date of hire.
