Job summary

City of Chesapeake is seeking licensed mental health professionals to join our Emergency Services Program. A master’s degree in psychology, social work, or counseling is required, with Virginia board approval for related fields.

Two years of related full-time experience are required. Licensure (LCSW, LPC, LCP) or eligibility is needed; several other licenses may be considered. Applicants may be asked for certifications and a driver license.

Qualifications

• Requires master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or an approved related field.
• Minimum two years of related, full-time experience.
• License in Virginia (LCSW, LPC, LCP) required or eligible for licensure.
• LMFT, Psychiatric NP/CNS or RN with five years' experience may be considered in the Emergency Services Program.
• Pre-Screening Certification may be required within 6 weeks (12 weeks for part-time).
• May require valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
