Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. seeks a Behavioral Health Specialist to support detainees with mental health services within a correctional setting.

You will perform screening, provide psychoeducation and interventions, and collaborate with custody and medical staff to monitor and treat behavioral health concerns. You will coordinate with county behavioral health services for continuity of care and discharge planning, document referrals, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a Behavioral/Social Science field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, etc.) required.
• CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained while in this role.
• Hands-on or online certifications are accepted.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provide behavioral health screening of detainees referred by facility staff or identified by prescreening.
• Under supervision, provide individual and/or group psychoeducation and skills-based interventions.
• Assist custody and medical staff in the monitoring of behavioral health for referred detainees.
• Coordinate with custody and medical staff in the management and treatment of detainees with behavioral health concerns.
• Monitor and assess therapeutic support of segregated and isolated detainees.
• Coordinate with county behavioral health services for continuity of care and discharge planning/case management via sharing of pertinent patient information.
• Complete documentation as well as maintain records for referral tracking and continuous quality improvement (CQI) under supervision.

Education

Master’s Degree in Behavioral/Social Science

CPR certification

Current licensure with clinical specialty (state licensing board)

Valid driver’s license
