Licensed Mental Health Practitioner – YRTC‑Lincoln (Open)

Overview

Location: Lincoln, NE • Hiring Rate: $35.989/hour.

Job Description

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking Licensed Mental Health Practitioners for the Division of Children and Family Services at our Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Centers located in Lincoln. The successful candidate will impact the lives of high‑acuity youth while supporting our therapeutic, rehabilitative, and holistic approach to their care.

Responsibilities

• Assess mental/behavioral health needs and provide treatment interventions and monitoring of response and progress.
• Develop treatment plans.
• Provide consultative services to treatment team and collaborate with probation and other service providers.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy to youth.
• Provide ACRA substance abuse programming.
• Respond to crisis situations and assist with de‑escalation process.
• Complete all required documentation.
• Responsible for mental health needs of youth on campus.
• Participate in on‑call rotation.

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Behavioral Health Practitioner IV: State of Nebraska licenses as Mental Health Practitioner and Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
• Behavioral Health Practitioner III: Nebraska license as Mental Health Practitioner or Nebraska license as Alcohol and Drug Counselor AND Nebraska Provisional License as Mental Health Practitioner or Nebraska Provisional License as Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
• Behavioral Health Practitioner II: Nebraska License as Mental Health Practitioner.
• Behavioral Health Practitioner I: Provisional license to practice as a mental health practitioner in Nebraska.

Legal Requirements: Licensure requirements pursuant to Nebraska State Statutes 38‑2122 and 38‑316.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates who are fully licensed as a LMHP are preferred but those with a provisional license will be considered. Consideration will be given to applicants currently in process of obtaining the required licensure.

Pay

• Licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner AND Alcohol and Drug Counselor with the State of Nebraska or as LIMHP: $35.989/hour.
• Mental Health Practitioner or Alcohol and Drug Counselor License AND a Provisional license in the other: $33.478/hour.
• Licensed as Mental Health Practitioner: $31.143/hour.
• Provisionally licensed applicants: $26.547/hour until fully licensed.

Additional $3.00/hour facility differential for hours worked.
