Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including clinical interviews, psychosocial histories, and mental status examinations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, diagnoses, and goals.
• Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy using evidence‑based modalities appropriate for the patient population.
• Diagnose mental health disorders according to DSM‑5 criteria and coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, primary care physicians, and other providers within the multi‑specialty practice.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, treatment options, and community resources.
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely clinical documentation in electronic health records in compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide crisis intervention when appropriate.
• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with best practices, continuing education requirements, and licensure renewal obligations.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and New York State regulations.
