Job summary

House of Ruth Inc in Washington, DC is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Clinician (Full-Time/Exempt) for the Domestic Violence Support Center. The clinician provides individual counseling, develops treatment plans, and facilitates psychoeducational groups, with a regular client caseload.

The position requires a DC LICSW or LPC license (or license eligible) and at least two years post-licensure experience with traumatized individuals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) and active District of Columbia licensure as an LICSW or LPC required.
• Minimum of two years post licensure experience required.
• Must have experience working with and providing therapeutic services to traumatized individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling services to clients.
• Offer crisis intervention based on assessed emergency needs.
• Meet regularly with clients to develop a therapeutic relationship, assess strengths and needs, and implement a treatment plan.
• Complete all forms and maintain accurate documentation of client contacts.
• Communicate essential issues to relevant contacts and gather information from sources.
• Develop and conduct psycho-educational and/or support groups addressing domestic violence.
• Attend trainings, supervision, and weekly staff meetings.
