Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough intake assessments, clinical evaluations, and diagnostic evaluations utilizing psychological terminology and adhering to clinical documentation standards.
• Deliver individual, group, couples, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, internal family systems therapy, and EMDR therapy.
• Implement counseling interventions including motivational interviewing, depression and anxiety interventions, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and grief counseling.
• Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management protocols and provide immediate support during emergencies or behavioral health crises.
• Maintain accurate and compliant therapy records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines; ensure documentation reflects patient care, treatment progress, and case management activities.
• Participate in telehealth sessions to expand access to care.

Qualifications

• Valid licensure in good standing as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with CA Board of Behavioral Services approval.
• Proven experience working with individuals, couples, and families in clinical settings; familiarity with both individual, couples, and family counseling techniques.
• Strong knowledge of mental health counseling modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, internal family systems (IFS) therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, couples and family therapy.
• Skilled in crisis intervention strategies, trauma-informed care including PTSD care protocols, and crisis management procedures.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation standards including medical documentation, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Excellent client communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations using telehealth platforms when needed.
• Training and experience in integrating Christian faith in counseling services a plus.
