Job summary

A leading animal welfare organization in Port Washington is seeking dedicated Veterinary Technicians to join their passionate team. Ideal candidates will possess a NYS Veterinary Technician license or be currently enrolled in an AVMA program. Full Time, Part Time and Per Diem shifts available

North Shore Animal League America is the largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization in the world. We are a non-profit organization and since 1944, the League’s mission has been saving the lives of pets through adoption, rescue and advocacy initiatives. Every year, the League reaches across the country to rescue, nurture and adopt nearly 20,000 pets into happy and loving homes

Ideal candidates must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, work well with staff members, be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills. Our full-time LVT’s enjoy a 10 hour/4 day or 8 hour/5 day workweek. Must be flexible to work additional hours when workload requires.

Experience a plus, but will train new graduates!

Requirements:

• NYS Veterinary Technician license, limited permit or currently enrolled in an AVMA school program.
• Must be proficient in all technical skills.
• Must be mature, responsible, energetic, and able to work well in a team atmosphere.
• Must be able to multi-task and perform in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to handle and control animals.
• Communicate with clients; provide support to families.

Salary: $25.00 – 32.00 per hour
