Job summary

The Moret Group in New York is seeking an experienced hosiery designer to develop licensed character products. You will research trends, create color stories, and translate inspiration into compelling sock concepts for brands like Hello Kitty, Disney, and Coca-Cola.

You will design socks, tights and slipper socks, prepare submissions for licensors, and coordinate with overseas factories while keeping sample boards and file archives organized.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong team player with a proactive, self-motivated attitude.
• Well organized and hardworking.
• College degree required.
• 3+ years of hosiery or licensed character design experience.
• Experience developing product lines with overseas factories.

Responsibilities

• Research, organize, present and translate trend, graphics and color inspiration.
• Design socks, tights and slipper socks for licensed characters (Hello Kitty, Disney, Nickelodeon, Peanuts, Universal, Warner Bros., Nintendo, Sega, Coca-Cola, and more).
• Prepare design concept submissions for licensors.
• Communicate with overseas factories.
• Keep sample boards, line sheets and computer files organized.
