Job summary

Meadows Funeral Home Inc. in Monroe, GA seeks a compassionate and professional Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer to join our dedicated team. You will serve families with dignity, plan funeral services, and coordinate all aspects of arrangements on-site in Monroe.

The role requires GA licensure, an associated Mortuary Science degree, and experience in embalming, family conferences, and regulatory compliance. Flexible hours and on-call shifts may be required to meet family needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be able to obtain Georgia Funeral Director and Embalmer license.
• Associate's degree or higher in Mortuary Science from an accredited program.
• Experience in funeral service, embalming, and family arrangement conferences preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Georgia funeral service laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform embalming, restorative art, and preparation of the deceased in accordance with state regulations.
• Meet with bereaved families to plan and arrange funeral services tailored to their needs and wishes.
• Coordinate all aspects of funeral and graveside services, including logistics and vendor communication.
• Prepare and file required legal documents, including death certificates and burial permits.
• Transport deceased individuals with care and professionalism.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and compliance of the preparation room and facilities.
• Provide compassionate grief support and aftercare resources to families.

Requirements

• Valid Georgia Funeral Director and Embalmer license (or ability to obtain reciprocity)
• Associate's degree or higher in Mortuary Science from an accredited program
• Prior experience in funeral service, embalming, and family arrangement conferences preferred
• Strong knowledge of Georgia funeral service laws and regulations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate demeanor
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and on-call shifts
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
