Job summary

The MJ Treatment in the Bronx is seeking a licensed Esthetician for a part-time Independent Contractor role focused on skincare and hair removal. You’ll perform facials, waxing or sugaring, and educate clients on homecare in a welcoming spa setting.

Join a client-focused team with flexible shifts, commission opportunities, and product discounts. You’ll manage your own schedule, maintain SOAP notes, and uphold health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Active New York esthetics license and liability insurance.
• Minimum 1 year of facial skincare experience.
• Minimum 1 year of waxing and/or sugaring experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform personalized facials and skincare consultations.
• Provide waxing and/or sugaring services with professionalism and attention to detail.
• Perform facial treatments, extractions, and body treatments.
• Educate clients on skincare routines and treatment recommendations.
• Recommend homecare products to support client results.
• Maintain accurate client treatment notes using S.O.A.P. documentation.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized treatment room.
• Follow all spa policies and health and safety standards.

Role Description

We are seeking a licensed Esthetician who is confident providing both skincare treatments and hair removal services. This opportunity is ideal for a professional who enjoys building client relationships, educating clients on skincare, and delivering exceptional service in a spa setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform personalized facials and skincare consultations
• Provide waxing and/or sugaring services with professionalism and attention to detail
• Perform facial treatments, extractions, and body treatments

Requirements

• Valid New York State Esthetics License and active liability insurance (required)
• Minimum one year of experience providing facials and skincare services
• Minimum one year of waxing and/or sugaring experience
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, professional, and punctual

Preferred Qualifications

• Dermaplaning certification
• Bilingual Spanish and English

Compensation

• Compensation is based on completed services and treatments performed
• Additional compensation includes 20% commission opportunities and client gratuities paid directly to you

Work Structure

This opportunity is structured as an Independent Contractor (1099) relationship. Contractors maintain control over their schedules and are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and related business expenses. This is a part-time role with flexible days and shifts based on availability and client demand.
