Job summary

Applewood Centers is seeking a MRSS Licensed Crisis Therapist to provide mobile response and stabilization for youth (ages 2‑20) and families in crisis. The role requires rapid on-scene assessment within an hour and continuation of stabilization services after the initial 72 hours.

The position offers diverse shifts, with emphasis on safety planning, documentation, and coordination of care under HIPAA compliance, within a nonprofit, Equal Opportunity environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• LSW/LFMT/LP C licensure required; LISW/IMFT/LPCC preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience with youth and families in a mental health setting.
• First Aid and CPR training required and provided by agency.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable by agency insurance.

Responsibilities

• Mobile response to a family-identified crisis within one hour.
• Engage youth and families in de-escalating the crisis and assess for risk.
• Facilitate hospitalization for clients as necessary.
• Complete a Crisis Assessment and CANS to develop safety and MRSS plan.
• Carry a small caseload through the ongoing stabilization phase (up to six weeks).
• Maintain clinical records per licensing and accreditation standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Masters preferred.


2. Licensure:LSW, LMFT or LPC required. LISW, IMFT or LPCC preferred.


3. Experience: Minimum of two years of experience working with youth and families in a mental health setting. Knowledge of the DSM-5 and diagnostic criteria. Experience with family systems and crisis intervention preferred.


4. Other: First Aid and CPR training required and provided by agency. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency’s insurance company. Must be approved by Applewood to transport clients in own vehicle

POSITION SUMMARY

The MRSS Licensed Crisis Therapist will provide mobile response and stabilization services to youth (age 2-20) and families who have called the crisis hotline with a family identified crisis. The MRSS Licensed Crisis Therapist will respond face-to-face (in person or via video conferencing) with another MRSS Team member to high risk crisis situations within an hour to assess the youth and stabilize the family. After the initial 72 hours, the family will receive on going stabilization and care coordination services from the MRSS team. Various shifts are available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Mobile response to a family identified crisis within one hour.


2. Engage youth and families in de-escalating the crisis and assess for risk.


3. Facilitate hospitalization for clients as necessary.


4. Complete a Crisis Assessment and CANS to help develop a safety plan and a MRSS plan.


5. Carry a small amount of clients through the ongoing stabilization phase of up to six weeks.


6. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.


7. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment according to HIPPA guidelines. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.

OTHER DUTIES

1. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.


2. All required trainings, certifications, and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.


3. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.


4. Other duties as assigned by management
