Job description

At One Behavioral, we are a virtual and in-person mental health clinic dedicated to providing accessible, compassionate, and high-quality behavioral health services to a diverse patient population. Our multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and mental health counselors who work collaboratively to support patients across a wide range of mental health needs.

Our clinic works closely with referral sources including the Department of Mental Health, local hospitals with inpatient psychiatric programs, and community health centers. Our specialty psychiatric services support geriatric patients, adults, adolescents, and children.

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) to join our growing behavioral health team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career clinician to gain valuable clinical experience while providing meaningful mental health services in a supportive, collaborative environment.

The LPC-A will provide counseling and clinical support to patients in an outpatient setting under the required clinical supervision, while developing their professional skills and experience. The role involves conducting assessments, providing individual and group counseling, developing treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, coordinating care, and collaborating with other behavioral health professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling to support patients with a variety of mental health concerns.
  • Conduct initial and follow-up assessments and assist in identifying patients' clinical needs, goals, and treatment priorities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans under appropriate clinical supervision.
  • Help clients explore emotions, behaviors, relationships, life experiences, and other factors affecting their mental health.
  • Support patients experiencing concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress, anger management, relationship challenges, substance use, aging, bullying, self-image, career concerns, and other behavioral health issues.
  • Provide age-appropriate and culturally responsive care to a diverse patient population.
  • Help clients establish meaningful goals, develop coping strategies, and work toward positive behavioral and emotional outcomes.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation, treatment plans, progress notes, reports, and other required records.
  • Coordinate patient care with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, primary care providers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team as appropriate.
  • Communicate with patients and, when appropriate, their families or other involved providers to support continuity of care.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, consultation, and case discussions as required for LPC-Associate practice.
  • Maintain compliance with all Texas laws, rules, regulations, licensing requirements, and supervision requirements applicable to an LPC-Associate.
  • Practice within the scope of professional training, education, and licensure while following all applicable clinical and ethical standards.
  • Maintain reasonable availability to patients and the Employer during scheduled working hours.
  • Continuously develop clinical knowledge and professional skills through supervision, training, continuing education, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Follow all applicable organizational policies, procedures, quality standards, and clinical practices.
  • Perform other clinical and administrative duties reasonably necessary to support high-quality patient care and the operations of the practice.
Qualifications
  • Current Texas LPC-Associate (LPC-A) license in good standing.
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Ability to practice under the required clinical supervision.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to mental health care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
  • Interest in working with a diverse patient population across different age groups and presenting concerns.
  • Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly preferred to help support our local patient population.
