Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social work from an accredited school.
• Two years of work experience as a social worker in a health-related agency or facility.
• License and Certification required (LCSW preferred).
• Ability to organize required tasks.
• Cooperate with others, following policy and procedures.
• Relate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health professionals and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate assessment of the psychosocial situations of patients and their families, relying on appropriate theories and collaboration with health professionals.
• Implements individual, family, and/or group sessions for clients with a mental health diagnosis.
• Maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and families in group or individual settings.
• Assist patients/families in identifying psychosocial problems and planning courses of action.
• Help patients/families access community resources and advocate when necessary.
• Document assessments, diagnoses, plans, and observations accurately and timely.
