Allied Mechanical Services (AMS) – A Smart Care Company is seeking a Licensed Commercial Refrigeration Construction Foreman to lead technicians on construction sites, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality installations.

You will supervise crews, read blueprints, and coordinate with project managers while enforcing OSHA standards and safety practices. Strong leadership and CT licenses are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut HVAC journeyperson licenses (D-2 or S-2) required.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.
• 5+ years of commercial refrigeration installation/construction experience.
• Foreman/Lead Technician or Crew Supervisor experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

LICENSED COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN ALLIED MECHANICAL SERVICES (AMS) - A SMART CARE COMPANY

About the Role: The Commercial Refrigeration Construction Foreman oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems at construction sites. This role is responsible for leading a team of technicians, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.

What Will Your Day Look Like?

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of refrigeration technicians and laborers on construction sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to commercial refrigeration systems.
• Ensure all refrigeration installations comply with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
• Plan and schedule work to meet project timelines and deadlines.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to improve productivity and skill levels.
• Inspect work performed to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Maintain inventory of tools, materials, and equipment required for refrigeration projects.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with refrigeration systems during installation or operation.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Connecticut D-2 Limited Warm Air, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Journeyperson License, Connecticut S-2 Unlimited Heating, Piping & Cooling Journeyperson License, or equivalent Connecticut HVAC/R journeyperson license required.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial refrigeration installation and construction.
• Previous Foreman, Lead Technician, or Crew Supervisor experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems, rack refrigeration, cold storage equipment, HVAC systems, and related mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and technical documents.
• Experience coordinating labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project schedules.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Connecticut D-1 Limited Warm Air, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Contractor License or Connecticut S-1 Unlimited Heating, Piping & Cooling Contractor License preferred.
• Experience with rack refrigeration systems, walk-in coolers and freezers, cold storage facilities, commercial foodservice equipment, and commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience managing commercial refrigeration construction and installation projects from startup through completion.
• Experience using project management, scheduling, and construction software.

Working Conditions:

• Work performed on active construction sites and customer locations with exposure to weather, noise, heights, and heavy equipment.
• Frequent travel between job sites may be required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as business and project needs require.
