Job summary

Adjuvant Behavioral Health, a national oncological behavioral health provider, seeks empathetic mental health professionals for a fully remote therapist position. The role requires a Masters degree, two years of professional experience, and an active Louisiana license (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT); cross-licensure in Texas is also required.

The therapist will manage referrals and maintain a client load of at least 18 hours per week, with telehealth experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients individually and/or within family sessions.
• Make internal referrals to IOP if little to no improvement occurs within 8 weeks of OP therapy.
• Guide clients in developing skills or strategies for dealing with problems.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with SMART goals within 72 hours of intake and update every 4 weeks.
• Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including diagnostic records and progress notes (within 48 hours after each session).
• Prepare and maintain all treatment records and reports.
• Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition based on client information.
• Collaborate with staff to perform assessments or develop treatment plans within 2 days of establishing care.
• Refer patients to community resources or specialists as necessary.
• Learn about developments in counseling by reading literature, attending courses, or maintaining professional contacts.

Education

This is a fully remote position.

Pay: $60-62/hr.

Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the mission of the clinic, a therapist will seek to facilitate hope and change in the lives of their clients who have been affected by cancer. A therapist is responsible for accepting referrals and maintaining a client load (minimum 18 hours per week).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Counsel clients or patients individually and/or within family sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
• Make internal referrals to IOP if little to no improvement occurs within 8 weeks of OP therapy.
• Guide clients in the development of skills or strategies for dealing with their problems.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, establishing SMART goals with the patient. Treatment plans are to be developed 72 hours after intake and updated / modified every 4 weeks.
• Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including client diagnostic records and progress notes. Progress notes are to be developed 48 hours after every session.
• Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
• Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition, based on review of client information.
• Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans within 2 days of establishing care with the existing patient.
• Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
• Learn about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, or establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters Degree from an accredited college or university
• Two years of professional level experience in a counselor setting
• This is a fully remote role, but current and active license to practice behavioral health (LCSW, LPC or LMFT) in Louisiana is required
• Cross-licensure in Texas is required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in healthcare with oncology
• 1 year experience in Telehealth Settings
