Job summary

TEMPO Employment Services is seeking a Licensed Boiler Operator for an Ashland, ME facility. This full-time role involves monitoring biomass and oil-fired boiler systems and a turbine generator, with opportunities for training and certification.

You will work 12-hour rotating shifts (days or nights) with a rotating schedule as needed, and benefit from competitive pay and a path to permanent placement with the client.

Qualifications

• Trade certification or Associate's degree required.
• 1-5 years boiler operation or related industrial experience preferred.
• Valid Maine High Pressure (HP) Boiler License required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain high-pressure boiler systems and related equipment.
• Monitor boiler performance and adjust as needed.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Respond quickly to malfunctions and emergencies.
• Perform water treatment activities related to boiler operations.
• Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of utility systems.
• Follow safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Train plant personnel on boiler operations as directed.
• Participate in safety meetings and inspections.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

• Full-Time
• Days or Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• Days: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Nights: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
• Monday–Wednesday or Thursday–Saturday
• Rotating schedules may also be available
• Schedule is based on operational needs.

Pay: $24.34/hr - $30.00/hr depending on experience and boiler license certification level.

Job Description:

Immediate opening for a Boiler Operator to join a leading industrial operation in Ashland. The Boiler Operator will be responsible for monitoring and controlling biomass and oil-fired boiler systems, as well as a turbine generator, to ensure safe and efficient operation of the facility. This individual will perform routine operational troubleshooting, minor repairs, and daily operation and maintenance of dry kilns.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain high-pressure boiler systems and related equipment
• Monitor boiler performance and make adjustments as needed
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs
• Respond quickly and safely to equipment malfunctions and emergencies
• Perform water treatment activities related to boiler operations
• Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of utility systems
• Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with preventative and routine maintenance activities
• Work closely with other team members to maintain efficient facility operations
• Train other plant personnel on boiler operations as directed
• Participate in safety meetings and inspections
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Trade certification or Associate's degree required.
• Valid Maine High Pressure (HP) Boiler License required.
• 1-5 years of boiler operation or related industrial experience preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and performing minor repairs.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to work rotating shifts as part of a 24/7 operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to workplace safety.
