Job summary

Empower Mental Health is seeking a licensed Audiologist to perform VA-required C&P evaluations on Veterans as a flexible, non-treatment role. This contract-based opportunity focuses on evaluations, testing, and detailed documentation without patient care or billing responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Audiologist license.
  • Master's Degree or higher in relevant field.
  • Must have access to calibrated audiometer for VA evaluations.
  • Must have access to a diagnostic tympanometer for tympanometry and reflex testing.
  • Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to follow structured evaluation protocols.
  • Familiarity with Maryland CNC speech testing.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) audiology evaluations for Veterans.
  • Perform structured hearing loss and tinnitus evaluations based on VA guidelines.
  • Review relevant medical records and examination information.
  • Obtain relevant history through focused, objective interviews.
  • Perform required audiometric testing and related clinical documentation.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and timely reports in VA-required formats.
  • Provide objective, fact-based findings without influencing the outcome of a Veteran's claim.
  • Submit completed examination documentation within required timeframes.
  • Maintain clear boundaries between evaluation and treatment.
  • Follow all applicable ethical, legal, professional, and confidentiality requirements.

Job Summary

Are you an experienced, licensed Audiologist looking for a flexible opportunity or additional income alongside your current practice?

As a C&P Audiologist, you will conduct structured audiology evaluations for Veterans according to VA requirements. You will review relevant records, obtain a focused history, perform appropriate audiometric testing, and complete the required documentation. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to supplement your income while providing meaningful services to the Veteran population.

This is a non-treatment role focused exclusively on evaluation, testing, and documentation. There is no ongoing patient care, treatment planning, or insurance billing..

Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Audiologist license
  • Must have access to a calibrated audiometer capable of performing VA-required hearing evaluations
  • Must have access to a diagnostic tympanometer (immittance device) capable of performing tympanometry and acoustic reflex testing
  • Master's Degree or higher in relevant field
  • Strong documentation and report-writing skills
  • Ability to follow structured evaluation protocols
  • Comfortable performing objective, fact-based evaluations
  • Comfortability performing Maryland CNC speech recognition testing
  • Access to equipment such as: SHOEBOX Audiometer, Interacoustics Titan (with diagnostic modules), Interacoustics AT235 / AT235h, GSI TympStar Pro, Kuduwave, or Comparable diagnostic audiology equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience conducting VA, C&P, disability, or forensic-style evaluations
  • Experience with audiometric testing and tinnitus evaluations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience working with Veterans is a plus
Compensation & Structure
  • 1099 Independent Contractor position
  • $150 - $185 per evaluation
