Job summary

Qualifications

• No experience required; strong communication and medical terminology skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform injury assessments and refer patients for necessary care.
• Communicate with patients to triage, answer questions, and provide self-care, prevention, and treatment instruction.
• Communicate with physicians and the medical team to determine the need for special tests or services.
• Establish and implement individualized plans of care based on evaluation results and health goals.
• Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient response.
• Identify potential issues and advocate for patients with physicians and key professionals.
• Address patients' physical and psychosocial comfort needs.
• Complete patient after-visit summaries, written home exercise programs, patient/family teaching, community-service referrals, and equipment orders.
• Complete required documentation, including assessments, progress notes, and after-visit summaries.
• Perform patient positioning, transferring, and transporting duties.
• Provide age-appropriate care based on growth and development principles and patient-specific needs.
• Operate equipment necessary to perform the job.

Requirements

• Current athletic training certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)
• Currently licensed or eligible for an Athletic Trainer license issued by the state in which the teammate practices within 30 days of hire
• Ability to complete American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS), including CPR and AED training, within 30 days of hire
• Bachelor's degree in athletic training from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) program
• No experience required
