Job summary

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Youngsville, LA location. The role involves engaging patients to support clinical needs and assisting Staff Physicians in managing patient panels.

The normal work period is 80 hours over two weeks, with hours varying to cover departmental patient demand. A state-approved LPN/LVN education and current Louisiana license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate; Graduate of state approved LPN/LVN school; Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Louisiana.
• Previous Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of the nursing process; biology, chemistry; anatomy and physiology; medical/surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
• Monitor vital signs and other health indicators.
• Provide patient education and support.
• Document patient care activities in accordance with established standards.
• Perform diagnostic tests as needed.

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services, including medical care. Our medical department provides a full array of medical care including, but not limited to women’s health exams, men’s health exams, diabetes care, high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, chronic conditions, laboratory services, physical examinations, and referrals for specialty care.

ICCHC is currently seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for its Youngsville, LA location.

This position engages our patients to support their clinical needs and supports Staff Physicians in managing their panel of patients. The normal work period consists of 80 hours/two weeks; sometimes more hours, sometimes less hours, or as needed to provide departmental coverage according to patient demand.

• TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Previous Medical/Surgical experience preferred, but not required.

• JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Basic knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles. Basic knowledge of Biology and Chemistry. Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Thorough knowledge of medical/ surgical procedures.
