Job summary

Doc PersonalBeratung GmbH seeks a Library Technician to support librarians and information specialists and to assist with library programs. You will provide direct services to the public and help maintain a wide range of materials and electronic resources.

You will handle check-ins/outs, fines, and holds in the library system and Datatel, manage serials, processing, shelving, and posts to portals. A high school diploma with library experience is required, and a bachelor's degree may substitute

Responsibilities of the Library Technician

Under direct supervision of the Head Librarian, performs tasks to support the work of librarians and information specialists, library programs and operations. Provides technical support and direct services to the public. Maintains a collection of books, journals, periodicals, electronic resources and documents and directs staff in classification of materials.

• Handles check-ins, check-outs, fines, overdue notices and places holds in library operating system and Datatel system according to consortium and college policies.
• Utilizes serials module in library operating system. Maintains control records, processing, shelving, and purging. Updates and maintains master hardcopy and electronic listing of subscription and non-subscription serials and posts to library portals.
• Receives and verifies PASCAL intrastate interlibrary loans. Fulfills on-and off-campus requests.

A high school diploma and relevant library experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for work experience.

Must have a valid driver's license.
