Downers Grove Public Library in Downers Grove, IL is hiring two friendly shelvers to join the Circulation team. You will monitor the sorter, shelve materials, and keep stacks in order while supporting closing procedures and other duties as needed.

This year-round part-time role averages 16 hours per week with shifts that may include morning, afternoon, or evening times, Saturday and Sunday rotations, and pay between $15.00 and $15.84 per hour. Benefits include vacation, personal, and sick leave.

The Downers Grove Public Library is seeking two friendly, enthusiastic shelvers for our customer-centric Circulation team. Shelvers monitor the automatic materials sorter, shelve materials, and keep materials in order. In addition, shelvers help support the department by performing closing procedures and other tasks as needed.

We are looking for candidates who have the ability to:

• Correctly file alphabetically and numerically
• Complete detailed work accurately
• Prioritize and multitask in a busy environment
• Walk and stand for extended periods
• Lift materials and push carts loaded with books
• Adapt well to technological changes

These year-round, part-time positions each average 16 hours per week. Hourly pay is $15.00-$15.84, depending on qualifications and experience. The hours for the positions may include morning, afternoon, or evening shifts, and include Saturday and Sunday rotations of four-hour shifts. Benefits include vacation leave, personal leave, and sick leave.
