Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a Library Media Specialist (2026-2027) for Pillsbury Elementary. The teacher will help students access, evaluate, and use information from multiple sources, and provide staff development on media and technology integration.

The candidate will oversee building-wide computer needs, manage materials and equipment, collaborate with families, and align with district goals and PDP-based professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Minnesota teaching license or pending licensure.
• Experience teaching in urban, multicultural settings.

Responsibilities

• Implement Minnesota State Standards and District Graduation Requirements; knowledge of the subject matter and diverse learning needs.
• Teach curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning and problem solving.
• Collaborate with peers to develop, plan and implement best practices for students' needs.
• Assess students' developmental, cognitive and social needs and provide developmentally appropriate instruction.
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with families to support learning and decisions.
