TrulyHired in New York is seeking a dedicated Paraeducator to support students in a library/Media Center setting. You will work under a Library Media Specialist, assist with classroom activities, circulate materials, shelve books, and help integrate technology to enrich learning.

Qualifications

Sincerely interested in educating and working with young people.
Ability to understand written and oral instructions, to speak and write coherently, to keep records and make simple reports, and to work cooperatively and professionally with school personnel and parents.
Bilingual/biliterate preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in a Library Media Center under the direction of a Library Media Specialist.
Attend meetings and in-service training as necessary.
Become acquainted with philosophies, policies, procedures, equipment, and the work site assigned.
Perform clerical assistance when needed to assist the supervisor to which one is assigned.
Supervise and reinforce instruction of students in various situations and programs.
Prepare instructional materials as needed by the Library Media Specialist.
Assist with library duties, e.g. circulation, shelving.
Provide classroom assistance when given a classroom or extension of the classroom assignment.
Use of technology to enhance instruction and aid in tasks assigned.
