Job summary

Hampton County School District seeks a Paraprofessional-Teacher Assistant at Hampton Intermediate School to support library operations and classroom activities. This 8-hour day position runs 190 days per year with salary levels based on education: Associate degree, Bachelor's, or Master's+.

You will manage circulation, prepare instructional materials, assist and supervise students, and perform clerical tasks under the Principal and Media Specialist.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credit hours or ParaPro Exam completed.
• Knowledge of child growth and development; or equivalent training/experience.
• Proficiency with general office equipment and typing.
• Ability to manage records and perform clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate files of library data and correspondence.
• Operates circulation desk and shelves books promptly.
• Sets up bulletin boards and library displays.
• Prepares magazines for shelving and inventories materials.
• Supervises students in the library and assists in instruction.
• Performs clerical tasks and supports teachers in classroom situations.
• Provides secretarial support: phones, mail, filing, scheduling, minutes.
• Compiles data and prepares statistical reports; maintains confidential records.
