Job Description

Position Purpose

The Library & Digital Communications Coordinator supports the school community by overseeing library services and managing the school’s digital presence. This position provides a welcoming and engaging library environment for students in grades K–12, supports faculty and students with research and educational resources, and promotes the school’s programs, events, and accomplishments through its website and social media platforms.

Essential Job Function:

  • Manage the daily operations, organization, and resources of the K–12 school library.
  • Support students across grade levels with reading, research, information literacy, and digital resources.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support curriculum needs and promote a culture of reading and learning.
  • Maintain and update the school website with current, accurate, and engaging content.
  • Manage school social media accounts and develop content that showcases student learning, school events, activities, and community achievements.
  • Create and curate photos, graphics, videos, and other digital content for school communications.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to communicate important news, events, and initiatives.
  • Help maintain a consistent, positive, and professional image of the school across all digital platforms.
  • Stay current with trends and best practices in school libraries, digital media, and educational technology

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed to assist students.

  • Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).

Qualifications Profile

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Library experience
  • Excellent website, social media and communication skills
  • Graphic design skills and experience
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • Team working relationship with teachers and support staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively using oral and written language
