Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Library Aide to support daily operations in an institutional library serving inmate and resident populations. The role includes assisting with catalog systems, scheduling access, and enforcing library policies to maintain a safe, orderly environment.

The incumbent will help locate materials, support acquisitions for current legal resources, and train inmate workers in shelving and cataloging. Must be at least 21 with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Two years of library work experience preferred, including cataloging and materials handling.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining library catalog system.
• Create schedules for inmate/resident access to library; enforce policies and ensure safety.
• Search catalogs and reference materials to help users locate materials; recommend acquisitions.
• Train inmate workers in shelving and material handling; manage check-in/check-out.
