Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield, Indiana seeks a Youth Services Librarian to develop and present programs for children and teens. You will curate the youth collection, plan storytimes, and collaborate with staff to deliver engaging services.
The role emphasizes readers advisory, displays, programming, and helping patrons find materials while maintaining a welcoming youth-centric space.
M - 8-5p, Tu - 8-5p, W - 11-8p, Th - 8-5p, F- 8-5p
Once every six weeks - F - off, Sat - 8-5p, Sun - 12-4p
Works with Youth Services Manager to ensure that patrons of the youth areas have access to a well-rounded collection of materials. Responsible for arranging and presenting programs for the youth of the community.
Adhere to budget responsibilities as assigned by the Youth Services Manager; required to manage and maintain the quality of collections.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Master's degree (ALA-accredited MLS degree or equivalent). Must possess or be able to acquire State of Indiana Librarian Certificate 3. Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Microsoft Office; Ability to work in a Mac and PC environment - basic computer troubleshooting skills is a plus; Mobile Devices including tablets; Experience with an Integrated Library System (ILS) software. SirsiDynix preferred.
