Job description

Link School of Business was founded to educate the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders. Our proposal combines practical education, business, and entrepreneurship, placing students at the center of real experiences and concrete market challenges.

At Link, learning goes beyond the classroom. Our students learn by doing, building, experimenting, and making decisions, in direct contact with entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and professionals who experience the market in practice.

About the Position

We are looking for an Academic Librarian to establish and manage Link Miami's information resources from the ground up.

This is a hands-on role with significant autonomy. You'll be responsible for defining and building a modern, digital-first library that supports our business education model — from selecting and acquiring databases and academic resources, to structuring our case study repository, to providing research and citation support to students and faculty.

You'll work with a growing campus, helping shape the library's services, tools, and operations as they evolve. If you're excited about building a contemporary academic library that serves entrepreneurs and business leaders, this is for you.

What You'll Do
Library Development & Collection Management
  • Define the library's scope as a digital-first operation.
  • Select, acquire, and organize databases and academic resources.
  • Structure access and organization of the collection (predominantly digital, with a lean physical collection).
  • Manage licensing, renewal, and vendor relationships.
Case Repository and Resources
  • Establish and manage the case study repository (Harvard Business Publishing and other sources).
  • Maintain and curate resources that directly support our business curriculum and faculty teaching.
Research Support and Reference Services
  • Provide research support to students and faculty, helping them efficiently search databases and locate information.
  • Advise on citation standards used in the US academic context (APA, Chicago, MLA).
  • Conduct in-person and virtual research consultations during defined times.
Education and Training
  • Plan and deliver workshops on database use, research strategies, and academic writing.
  • Promote library services and engage the academic community.
  • Create guides, tutorials, and resources to support student learning.
Data and Continuous Improvement
  • Extract and analyze resource usage reports.
  • Communicate updates and changes to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Propose actions to increase resource utilization and impact.
What We're Looking For
  • Degree in Business Administration, Library Science, Information Science, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in library services, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Strong experience with electronic resources: acquisition, licensing, and management of databases and digital collections.
  • Knowledge of collection organization and classification standards used in the US.
  • Familiarity with collection management systems, metadata standards, and digital repositories.
  • Knowledge of citation standards (APA, Chicago, MLA) and copyright/fair use in the US academic context.
  • Experience supporting academic research and writing.
  • Native/fluent English. Portuguese and/or Spanish are a plus.
  • Work authorization for the United States.
Who Stands Out
  • Autonomous and builder — comfortable building services from scratch and operating independently without relying on pre-existing structures.
  • User-oriented and communicative — proactive in anticipating needs; clear in training and documentation; strong in conflict resolution.
  • Adaptable and curious — resilient in dynamic environments; quick to learn new systems; constantly proposing new formats and services to expand the library's offerings.

If you are excited about the possibility of creating a modern academic library within an entrepreneurial, practical, and dynamic educational environment, we want to meet you.
