Job summary

Erie Insurance, headquartered in Erie, PA, is seeking a Claims Examiner to exercise independent discretion and judgement in handling complex liability issues and coverage determinations, including minor injury claims. You will conduct investigations, set reserves, negotiate settlements, document files, identify subrogation opportunities, and mentor teammates.

Some travel for training may be required; regular onsite presence is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and two years of claims or customer service experience.
• Equivalent educational experience will be considered.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets and maintains reserves. Obtains documents to establish the value of claims and negotiates settlement or declines claim.
• Documents files and submits final report.

Position Summary

Qualifications

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of claims or customer service experience, preferably with casualty claims, required.
• Equivalent educational experience will be considered.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, preferred.
