Job summary

The Broadway Youth Center at Howard Brown Health seeks a Youth Development Specialist to provide daily basic needs, outreach, and youth programming for LGBTQ and street-based youth ages 12–24 in Chicago, IL. You will integrate harm reduction with youth development to improve access to health and social services.

Responsibilities include facilitating programs, linking youth to primary care, mental health, education, and vocation resources, and maintaining accurate HMIS/EHR records.

Qualifications

• Interest in social services/public health fields.
• Experience in youth development programming and facilitation.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily basic needs and outreach to LGBTQ and street-based youth ages 12-24.
• Develop and facilitate youth programming at Broadway Youth Center.
• Link youth to in-house health, mental health, education, and vocation resources.
• Maintain confidential documentation in HMIS and EHR systems.
• Foster youth leadership and participate in staff trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
