Job summary

Leprino Foods is seeking a Micro Analyst in the QE Department to perform bacteriological testing on raw, finished production, in-process and environmental samples. The role requires preparation of media and reagents, instrument calibration, QA checks, and documentation in a fast-paced dairy manufacturing environment.

The position supports flexible hours with a 5th shift (12PM-8:30PM) and a wage scale of $27.59/hr with differential pay from 6PM–5:59AM.

Qualifications

• Experience in a laboratory setting.
• Basic understanding of microbiology as it pertains to food products and environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in the Manufacturing, Quality in Food, or Quality in Dairy industries.

Responsibilities

• Performance of all required microbiological determinations upon all manner of raw and finished production samples received, as well as in-process and environmental samples obtained.
• Preparation of any and all media and/or reagents required for proper performance of all analytical techniques.
• Performance of any and all required instrument calibrations.
• Maintenance of instrument calibration log books.
• Performance of any and all required Quality Assurance checks, routine or otherwise.
• Maintenance of Quality Assurance log books.
• Completion of all Quality Control documentation associated with analytical determinations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Foreperson or Supervisor.
• At all times, operate in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area, participating in the Master Sanitation Schedule.

Working Relationships

• This position reports to the Quality Department Manager or a Supervisor.
• This position will regularly interact with other production and support group supervisors. Regular interaction with other plant management.
